Nanjing University of Technology
Nanjing University of Technology is Located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province,China. Nanjing is situated on the south bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Nanjing with a population of about 7 millions is the capital of Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 860 square kilometers. Nanjing has a history of more than 2400 years, with six dynasties i.e. the Wu, the Eastern Jin, the Song, the Qi,the Liang and the Chen, choosing Nanjing as their capital cities.
Nanjing is also an important comprehensive industrial production base in China. Production capacities of its electronic industry and chemical industry both rank the second place among domestic cities.Its automobile manufacture scale is listed the third. Nanjing has won the titles of “China’s top 50 cities of Comprehensive Strength”,“China’s Top Tourist City”, and “Advanced Technological City in China”.
Nanjing is a key transportation junction and information center in east China with the largest inland waterway harbor, Lu Kou Airport, and a large number of railways and highways, which connect north, south, and midwest of China.
Language Center,CIE
The language center at CIE offers long-term language courses and short-term language courses. Language courses are divided into three levels: primary, intermediate, and advanced. Each student can find the proper courses in accordance with his/her Chinese level.
Long - term Language Courses
* Every week: 20 classes, 45 minutes/class
* Every semester: 4 courses for primary degree; 4-5 courses for intermediate degree; 5-6 courses for advanced degree.
* Long - term language Courses are basically divided into two categories: Classes for Language Skills (including Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, etc.) and Classes for Special Skills and Knowledge (including Pronunciation Correction, Business Chinese, Chinese history, Tourist and Culture, etc.)
* After registration, students will take “Placement Test” and are suggested to take the proper class according to their Chinese level.Short - term Language Courses
Short-term language Courses are basically divided into three categories: Chinese Language, Chinese History and Culture, Language Practice (visit).
Chinese Language Classes include comprehensive Chinese, listening, speaking and so on. Chinese History and Culture Classes (such as Calligraphy, Chinese Kongfu, Chinese Convention, Chinese Politics and Law, Chinese Cooking, etc.) are given to our foreign students in order to deepen their understanding about China. In addition students are given chances to practice their Chinese. Tours to historical sites such as Nanjing, Yangzhou, Wuxi, Shanghai, etc are arranged for them.Estimated Living Expenses

Programs
College of International Education (CIE) is in charge of international students’ affairs at Nanjing University of Technology. Since 1998, NJUT has recruited more than 400 international students from USA, Germany, Japan, Korea, Denmark, and so on. There are about 80 short-term or long-term international students on NJUT campuses each year recently. More and more Asia students choose to study at NJUT nowadays.
International students have following options to study at NJUT.(1) Short - term Chinese language study program shorter than 6 months;

2. Degree programs: Age 18 to 60; healthy; with certificate of relevant background; HSK Level 3 (Applicants are suggested to learn Language programs first if not available).How to Apply
International students should apply to College of International Education for their study at NJUT. The applicants can ask for the Application Form from International Student Office in College of International Education (CIE) by person or by e-mail cie@njut.edu.cn.Applicants can also visit our website http://cie.njut.edu.cn for more information and download the Application Form. The Completed Application Form should be returned to the Admission Office two months before the beginning of the new semester together with the certificates needed.
