Hunan University of Technology (HUT), renamed from the former Zhuzhou Institute of Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Education in February, 2006, is a multi-disciplinary university which includes engineering, science, management, arts, economics, laws, etc., with science and engineering as its core. It is located in Zhuzhou, an important industrial city in central south China.
HUT is composed of two campuses, covering an area of 3,168 acres. It has a library with a collection of more than 1.5 million books, and more than 99.6 million yuan teaching and research facilities. Advanced computer network system, standard plastic track and field playground, gymnasium and all kinds of sports grounds for physical education are also well established.
HUT owns a staff of more than 1,290 people, among which 791 are full-time teachers with 123 professors, 262 associate professors, 79 doctors, 332 masters and 6 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It has 13 schools, including 36 undergraduate programs, 19 masters’ programs ( including 2 first-class programs and 17 second-class programs), with students enrolled from over 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. At present, there are 13.703 full-time students, including 12,987 undergraduates and 241 postgraduates.           

Since 2004, HUT has undertaken 29 national scientific research projects and 592 provincial ones, 4 of which have won national science and technology progress awards, and 56 won provincial ones. Meanwhile, over 3,290 academic research papers have been published and 446 of them are indexed by SCI , EI, ISTP, etc.
HUT scrupulously abides by the university exhortation loftiness in morality, richness in knowledge and harmony in difference, and adheres to the orientation of cultivating people in open teaching so as to make contribution to the development of regional economy, society and especially the packaging industry in China. All the courses will be taught by experienced teachers, who are specialists with expertise in teaching Chinese to foreign students.
In addition to the regular language classes, interesting extracurricular activities will be arranged for students to enrich their cultural experience. These include weekly tours to historical and cultural sites in and around Zhuzhou city, at the same time, you put your Chinese into real practice.
