First major national special sci-tech programme to be led by XMU
On May 18th, a meeting was held at Xiamen University to discuss plans for the implementation of a major national special sci-tech programme on research into diagnostic techniques, treatments for and immunisation against drug-resistant TB. This special programme is to be led by Prof. Li Qingge of the XMU School of Life Sciences.
Participants at the meeting included Zhuang Yuhui, project expert at the Chinese People's Liberation Army No. 309 Hospital, Wang Guozhi, researcher at the National Pharmaceutical and Biological Products Control Institute, Prof. Xia Ningshao, Director of the XMU National Institute of Diagnostics and Vaccine Development in Infectious Diseases, Liu Xiaoli, Director of Shenzhen Municipal Chronic Disease Hospital, Niu Jianjun, Director of Xiamen Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The discussion was hosted by the XMU Office of Science & Technology.
This programme is the first major national special Sci-Tech programme led by Xiamen University and Fujian Province. The programme has a budget of 11 million RMB.
